Clinical definition (Orphanet)

Zebra body is a benign , characterised by and weakness. Prevalence is unknown. Less than ten patients have been described so far. Muscle biopsy shows zebra bodies and other myopathic changes. Mutations of the alpha-skeletal actin (ACTA1) gene may be involved.

How rare: <1 / 1 000 000 — fewer than one in a million. In a city the size of Kolkata, that might mean on the order of fifteen people.
