Spinocerebellar type 40 (SCA40) is a very rare subtype of cerebellar type 1, characterized by the adult-onset of unsteady gait and dysarthria, followed by wide-based gait, gait , ocular dysmetria, intention tremor, scanning speech, hyperreflexia and dysdiadochokinesis.
How rare: <1 / 1 000 000 — fewer than one in a million. In a city the size of Kolkata, that might mean on the order of fifteen people.
